If you’re searching for tips on lancing a boil with minimal chance of spreading the infection then I recommend you read every word on this page and follow each step carefully.

Here’s what you’ll need to lance your boils:

  1. Hydrogen Peroxide – this will be use to prevent spreading of infection as it will kill any bacteria.

  2. Needle – will be use to lance your boils

  3. Cotton Ball – will be use to help soak up and clean the pus of the boil.

Here are the 7 simple steps I follow every time I need to lance a boil:

  1. Make sure your boil is ready to be lance and drain first or you will only make it worse (if you want to bring your boils to a head fast read my other posts on this site). So wait until your boils come to a head first. This usually happens when the head of the boil is filled with white or yellow pus.
  2. Once your boil is ready to be lance, gently clean your boil and areas around the boil with a with cotton ball soaked in hydrogen peroxide.
  3. Sterilize the needle in alcohol
  4. Carefully and gently insert the needle into the center of your boil’s head. Only insert it deep enough to release the pus.
  5. Now gently squeeze your boil until there’s no more pus and immediately soak up any pus with a cotton ball.
  6. Clean your boil and the areas around your boil with another cotton ball soaked up in hydrogen peroxide. This is to make sure the infections don’t spread. Also be sure to wash your hands.

Most will say squeezing your boils may force the infection deeper and make the problem worse. Now I’m no physician or doctor but my boils always heals up fast after following the above 6 steps. The infections never spread nor did the problem get worse, it just got better.

And yes, it is always better to have a physician lance your boils for you.
